What is an External Transport Manager?

An External Transport Manager is a qualified professional who manages your transport compliance obligations on your behalf. They hold a Transport Manager CPC qualification and can be nominated on your Operator Licence, ensuring you remain compliant with DVSA regulations without employing a full-time transport manager.

What is COTC Cover and who needs it?

COTC (Certificate of Technical Competence) Cover provides a qualified Technically Competent Manager (TCM) for permitted waste sites. UK environmental law requires every permitted waste site to have a TCM present. If your TCM is on holiday or sick leave, COTC Cover ensures you remain legally compliant.

How long does the Transport Manager CPC course take?

The full Transport Manager CPC qualification is a 10-day course available online or classroom-based. It covers all aspects of transport management and is the mandatory qualification for anyone wishing to be nominated as a transport manager on an Operator Licence.
